V.K. Harber

Our friend V.K. trust­ed us with the great respon­si­bil­i­ty of pre­sent­ing her ground­break­ing work around spir­i­tu­al­i­ty, fem­i­nism, yoga, con­scious­ness on her new web­site. Empa­thy, com­pas­sion, hon­esty. These are dif­fi­cult con­cepts to com­mu­ni­cate on a website.

We start­ed by cap­tur­ing a por­trait that would rep­re­sent a sense of calm in a chaot­ic world. So we set­up a tri­pod in the mid­dle of a busy day at Pike Place Mar­ket in Seat­tle and start­ed shoot­ing, allow­ing the busy shop­pers to blur and fade into the back­ground. This ten­sion is bal­anced against an extreme­ly min­i­mal con­cept, with a stark white back­ground and a thin, book­ish type­face. The result is unique and mem­o­rable and one of our all-time favorite projects.
